Frequently asked questions relating to the Adelaide - Arkaroola passenger service

  1. Q: How often do you run?
    A:The service departs Adelaide each Thursday returning Friday through out the year. During the period April to November an additional service departs Adelaide each Sunday returning on Monday.   
  2. Q: Do you have age or student concession?
    A: Currently the State Government Passenger Transport Board, who regulate route services and subsidise Concessions, have granted us a temporary status. When we have satisfied their criteria for permanency,we will be granted Permanent status and will then be able to offer concession tickets.
  3. Q: Do we get a ticket?
    A: Until we are granted permanency, we are happy to confirm via Fax, Post  or Email – no printed tickets at this stage.
  4. Q: When will this happen?
    A. Once the passenger Transport Board has granted a contract for this service, maybe 1 to 2 years.
  5. Q: Can you drop me to my home address or Hotel Accommodation in Adelaide?
    A: Yes with prior arrangement, an additional fee may apply.
  6. Q:Can you pick me up from City accommodation?
    A: Yes , with prior arrangement additional fees may apply.
  7. Q:Can you recommend a Hotel?
    A: Yes. Please contact the Genesis Office.
  8. Q:Can you drop me to the Airport?
    A: Yes,after we have dropped off at the Adelaide Central Bus Station. An additional fee may apply.
  9. Q:Can you pick me up on-route eg; Gepps Cross?
    A: Yes, with prior arrangement.
  10. Q:Can you drop me / pick me up from Hospital in Adelaide?
    A: Yes with prior arrangement. An additional fee may apply.
  11. Q:Do you carry bikes?
    A: yes we are a bike friendly Company. You may be required to remove the front wheel for transporting. If you have the bike in a box that is also fine. Assembled bikes will be covered / wrapped in a furniture blanket. Additional fees will apply to carry bikes.
  12. Q:Return or two one way fares -is there a difference?
    A: No - one way is 50% of a return ticket
  13. Q:Can I buy a return ticket and then get off part way and resume the trip at a latter date?
    A: Yes provided you continue on the route. e.g. Adelaide to Hawker, stay a few days then resume the trip to Arkaroola, returning at a latter date.
  14. Q:I book and pay for my trip, then have to cancel, will I loose all my fare
    A; Cancellations, less than 24 hours notice, no refund,however we will agree to holding the fare for travel at a latter date, subject to availability. See Terms & Conditions.
  15. Q:Other destinations in the area eg, Blinman, Marree, Pt Augusta?
    A:We can arrange transfers from our closest drop off point to other destinations in the area. Passengers must advise when booking if they need additional transfers as they are only available with prior notice and will incurr an additional cost.
  16. Q:Parcel freight- commercial / non commercial.
    A: Yes call the office ( 0885524000) to discuss your needs.
  17. Q:Are you planning other destinations in the region?
    A: Yes we will be adding other destinations in the future as opportunities open up.
  18. Q:Can we book a group?
    A: yes, we often take groups into the Flinders Ranges to various destinations and service providers. Contact the office for group inquiries.
  19. Q:Can we charter a vehicle for our group to go to a location not on your scheduled run?
    A: Yes.
  20. Q:Do I have to pay extra as I have more than one piece of luggage?
    A: any luggage that you would normal travel with on an airline with out additional cost , will not incurr additional fees with us
